This cinematic trailer for the DC Universe Online game was shown at ComicCon 2010, and by most accounts, outshone the game it was created to promote. To quote Blur Studio’s description, “six minutes of heroism and epic battles premiered at ComicCon and left fans cheering.” It’s now six years after this cinematic was produced, and it still looks so great, I have to wonder why there hasn’t been an attempt to make a film using this sort of technique, or at least a TV program or serial. My favorite parts are the Green Lantern visualizations – the armor or “cast” he has on his arm, and the giant geometric shields he constructs (even though they’re not enough to hold off Black Adam).
